261
ﻣَﺜَﻞُ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﻳُﻨْﻔِﻘُﻮْﻥَ ﺍَﻣْﻮَﺍﻟَﻬُﻢْ ﻓِﻲْ ﺳَﺒِﻴْﻞِ
ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻛَﻤَﺜَﻞِ ﺣَﺒَّﺔٍ ﺍَﻧْۢﺒَﺘَﺖْ ﺳَﺒْﻊَ ﺳَﻨَﺎﺑِﻞَ ﻓِﻲْ ﻛُﻞِّ
ﺳُﻨْۢﺒُﻠَﺔٍ ﻣِّﺎﺋَﺔُ ﺣَﺒَّﺔٍ ۗ ﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻳُﻀٰﻌِﻒُ ﻟِﻤَﻦْ
ﻳَّﺸَﺎۤﺀُ ۗﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻭَﺍﺳِﻊٌ ﻋَﻠِﻴْﻢٌ
maṡalullażīna yunfiqụna amwālahum fī
sabīlillāhi kamaṡali ḥabbatin ambatat sab'a
sanābila fī kulli sumbulatim mi`atu ḥabbah,
wallāhu yuḍā'ifu limay yasyā`, wallāhu
wāsi'un 'alīm
The parable of the person who spends his wealth
in the way of God is like a grain that grows seven
stalks, on each stalk there are a hundred seeds.
Allah multiplies for whom He wills, and Allah is All
-Knowing, All -Knowing.
262
ﺍَﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﻳُﻨْﻔِﻘُﻮْﻥَ ﺍَﻣْﻮَﺍﻟَﻬُﻢْ ﻓِﻲْ ﺳَﺒِﻴْﻞِ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﺛُﻢَّ
ﻟَﺎ ﻳُﺘْﺒِﻌُﻮْﻥَ ﻣَﺎٓ ﺍَﻧْﻔَﻘُﻮْﺍ ﻣَﻨًّﺎ ﻭَّﻟَﺎٓ ﺍَﺫًﻯۙ ﻟَّﻬُﻢْ
ﺍَﺟْﺮُﻫُﻢْ ﻋِﻨْﺪَ ﺭَﺑِّﻬِﻢْۚ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﺧَﻮْﻑٌ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻬِﻢْ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﻫُﻢْ
ﻳَﺤْﺰَﻧُﻮْﻥَ
allażīna yunfiqụna amwālahum fī sabīlillāhi
ṡumma lā yutbi'ụna mā anfaqụ mannaw wa lā
ażal lahum ajruhum 'inda rabbihim, wa lā
khaufun 'alaihim wa lā hum yaḥzanụn
He who spends his wealth in the way of Allah, then
does not accompany what he spends by
mentioning it and hurting (the feelings of the
recipient), they get a reward from their Lord. There
is no fear in them and they are not sad.
263
۞ ﻗَﻮْﻝٌ ﻣَّﻌْﺮُﻭْﻑٌ ﻭَّﻣَﻐْﻔِﺮَﺓٌ ﺧَﻴْﺮٌ ﻣِّﻦْ ﺻَﺪَﻗَﺔٍ
ﻳَّﺘْﺒَﻌُﻬَﺎٓ ﺍَﺫًﻯ ۗ ﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻏَﻨِﻲٌّ ﺣَﻠِﻴْﻢٌ
qaulum ma'rụfuw wa magfiratun khairum min
ṣadaqatiy yatba'uhā ażā, wallāhu ganiyyun
ḥalīm
Kind words and forgiveness are better than charity
accompanied by hurtful actions. God Almighty,
Most Forbearing.
264
ﻳٰٓﺎَﻳُّﻬَﺎ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﺍٰﻣَﻨُﻮْﺍ ﻟَﺎ ﺗُﺒْﻄِﻠُﻮْﺍ ﺻَﺪَﻗٰﺘِﻜُﻢْ
ﺑِﺎﻟْﻤَﻦِّ ﻭَﺍﻟْﺎَﺫٰﻯۙ ﻛَﺎﻟَّﺬِﻱْ ﻳُﻨْﻔِﻖُ ﻣَﺎﻟَﻪٗ ﺭِﺋَﺎۤﺀَ
ﺍﻟﻨَّﺎﺱِ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﻳُﺆْﻣِﻦُ ﺑِﺎﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻭَﺍﻟْﻴَﻮْﻡِ ﺍﻟْﺎٰﺧِﺮِۗ ﻓَﻤَﺜَﻠُﻪٗ
ﻛَﻤَﺜَﻞِ ﺻَﻔْﻮَﺍﻥٍ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﺗُﺮَﺍﺏٌ ﻓَﺎَﺻَﺎﺑَﻪٗ ﻭَﺍﺑِﻞٌ
ﻓَﺘَﺮَﻛَﻪٗ ﺻَﻠْﺪًﺍ ۗ ﻟَﺎ ﻳَﻘْﺪِﺭُﻭْﻥَ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ ﺷَﻲْﺀٍ ﻣِّﻤَّﺎ
ﻛَﺴَﺒُﻮْﺍ ۗ ﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻟَﺎ ﻳَﻬْﺪِﻯ ﺍﻟْﻘَﻮْﻡَ ﺍﻟْﻜٰﻔِﺮِﻳْﻦَ
yā ayyuhallażīna āmanụ lā tubṭilụ
ṣadaqātikum bil-manni wal-ażā kallażī yunfiqu
mālahụ ri`ā`an-nāsi wa lā yu`minu billāhi
wal-yaumil-ākhir, fa maṡaluhụ kamaṡali
ṣafwānin 'alaihi turābun fa aṣābahụ wābilun
fa tarakahụ ṣaldā, lā yaqdirụna 'alā syai`im
mimmā kasabụ, wallāhu lā yahdil-qaumal-
kāfirīn
O you who believe! Do not ruin your charity by
mentioning it and hurting (the feelings of the
recipient), like one who spends his wealth for
pleasure (show) to people and he does not believe
in God and the Last Day. His parable (the person)
is like a slippery rock on which there is dust, then
the rock is hit by a heavy rain, then the rock
remains slippery again. They get nothing from
what they do. And Allah does not guide the
disbelievers.
265
ﻭَﻣَﺜَﻞُ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﻳُﻨْﻔِﻘُﻮْﻥَ ﺍَﻣْﻮَﺍﻟَﻬُﻢُ ﺍﺑْﺘِﻐَﺎۤﺀَ
ﻣَﺮْﺿَﺎﺕِ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻭَﺗَﺜْﺒِﻴْﺘًﺎ ﻣِّﻦْ ﺍَﻧْﻔُﺴِﻬِﻢْ ﻛَﻤَﺜَﻞِ
ﺟَﻨَّﺔٍۢ ﺑِﺮَﺑْﻮَﺓٍ ﺍَﺻَﺎﺑَﻬَﺎ ﻭَﺍﺑِﻞٌ ﻓَﺎٰﺗَﺖْ ﺍُﻛُﻠَﻬَﺎ
ﺿِﻌْﻔَﻴْﻦِۚ ﻓَﺎِﻥْ ﻟَّﻢْ ﻳُﺼِﺒْﻬَﺎ ﻭَﺍﺑِﻞٌ ﻓَﻄَﻞٌّ ۗﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ
ﺑِﻤَﺎ ﺗَﻌْﻤَﻠُﻮْﻥَ ﺑَﺼِﻴْﺮٌ
wa maṡalullażīna yunfiqụna
amwālahumubtigā`a marḍātillāhi wa taṡbītam
min anfusihim kamaṡali jannatim birabwatin
aṣābahā wābilun fa ātat ukulahā ḍi'faīn, fa il
lam yuṣib-hā wābilun fa ṭall, wallāhu bimā
ta'malụna baṣīr
And the parable of the person who spends his
wealth to seek the pleasure of Allah and to
strengthen their souls, is like a garden situated on
a plateau watered by a heavy rain, then the garden
produces twice as much fruit. If heavy rain does
not water it, then the dew (is sufficient). Allah is
Seer of what you do.
266
ﺍَﻳَﻮَﺩُّ ﺍَﺣَﺪُﻛُﻢْ ﺍَﻥْ ﺗَﻜُﻮْﻥَ ﻟَﻪٗ ﺟَﻨَّﺔٌ ﻣِّﻦْ ﻧَّﺨِﻴْﻞٍ
ﻭَّﺍَﻋْﻨَﺎﺏٍ ﺗَﺠْﺮِﻱْ ﻣِﻦْ ﺗَﺤْﺘِﻬَﺎ ﺍﻟْﺎَﻧْﻬٰﺮُۙ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻓِﻴْﻬَﺎ
ﻣِﻦْ ﻛُﻞِّ ﺍﻟﺜَّﻤَﺮٰﺕِۙ ﻭَﺍَﺻَﺎﺑَﻪُ ﺍﻟْﻜِﺒَﺮُ ﻭَﻟَﻪٗ ﺫُﺭِّﻳَّﺔٌ
ﺿُﻌَﻔَﺎۤﺀُۚ ﻓَﺎَﺻَﺎﺑَﻬَﺎٓ ﺍِﻋْﺼَﺎﺭٌ ﻓِﻴْﻪِ ﻧَﺎﺭٌ ﻓَﺎﺣْﺘَﺮَﻗَﺖْ ۗ
ﻛَﺬٰﻟِﻚَ ﻳُﺒَﻴِّﻦُ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻟَﻜُﻢُ ﺍﻟْﺎٰﻳٰﺖِ ﻟَﻌَﻠَّﻜُﻢْ
ﺗَﺘَﻔَﻜَّﺮُﻭْﻥَ
a yawaddu aḥadukum an takụna lahụ
jannatum min nakhīliw wa a'nābin tajrī min
taḥtihal-an-hāru lahụ fīhā ming kulliṡ-
ṡamarāti wa aṣābahul-kibaru wa lahụ
żurriyyatun ḍu'afā`, fa aṣābahā i'ṣārun fīhi
nārun faḥtaraqat, każālika yubayyinullāhu
lakumul-āyāti la'allakum tatafakkarụn
Is there anyone among you who wants to have a
garden of date palms and grapevines under which
rivers flow, where he has all kinds of fruit, then his
old age comes and he has little offspring. Then the
garden was blown by a strong wind containing fire,
so that it caught fire. Thus Allah explains His
verses to you so that you may think about them.
267
ﻳٰٓﺎَﻳُّﻬَﺎ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﺍٰﻣَﻨُﻮْٓﺍ ﺍَﻧْﻔِﻘُﻮْﺍ ﻣِﻦْ ﻃَﻴِّﺒٰﺖِ ﻣَﺎ
ﻛَﺴَﺒْﺘُﻢْ ﻭَﻣِﻤَّﺎٓ ﺍَﺧْﺮَﺟْﻨَﺎ ﻟَﻜُﻢْ ﻣِّﻦَ ﺍﻟْﺎَﺭْﺽِ ۗ ﻭَﻟَﺎ
ﺗَﻴَﻤَّﻤُﻮﺍ ﺍﻟْﺨَﺒِﻴْﺚَ ﻣِﻨْﻪُ ﺗُﻨْﻔِﻘُﻮْﻥَ ﻭَﻟَﺴْﺘُﻢْ
ﺑِﺎٰﺧِﺬِﻳْﻪِ ﺍِﻟَّﺎٓ ﺍَﻥْ ﺗُﻐْﻤِﻀُﻮْﺍ ﻓِﻴْﻪِ ۗ ﻭَﺍﻋْﻠَﻤُﻮْٓﺍ ﺍَﻥَّ
ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﻏَﻨِﻲٌّ ﺣَﻤِﻴْﺪٌ
yā ayyuhallażīna āmanū anfiqụ min ṭayyibāti
mā kasabtum wa mimmā akhrajnā lakum
minal-arḍ, wa lā tayammamul-khabīṡa min-hu
tunfiqụna wa lastum bi`ākhiżīhi illā an
tugmiḍụ fīh, wa'lamū annallāha ganiyyun
ḥamīd
O you who believe! Spend some of the good deeds
and some of what We bring forth for you from the
earth. Do not choose the bad for you to take out,
when you yourself do not want to take it except by
squinting (reluctantly) at it. And know that Allah is
Exalted in Power, Praiseworthy.
268
ﺍَﻟﺸَّﻴْﻄٰﻦُ ﻳَﻌِﺪُﻛُﻢُ ﺍﻟْﻔَﻘْﺮَ ﻭَﻳَﺄْﻣُﺮُﻛُﻢْ ﺑِﺎﻟْﻔَﺤْﺸَﺎۤﺀِ ۚ
ﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻳَﻌِﺪُﻛُﻢْ ﻣَّﻐْﻔِﺮَﺓً ﻣِّﻨْﻪُ ﻭَﻓَﻀْﻠًﺎ ۗ ﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ
ﻭَﺍﺳِﻊٌ ﻋَﻠِﻴْﻢٌ ۖ
asy-syaiṭānu ya'idukumul-faqra wa
ya`murukum bil-faḥsyā`, wallāhu ya'idukum
magfiratam min-hu wa faḍlā, wallāhu wāsi'un
'alīm
Satan promises you poverty and enjoins you
mischief, while Allah promises you forgiveness and
grace. And Allah is All -Embracing, All -Knowing.
269
ﻳُّﺆْﺗِﻰ ﺍﻟْﺤِﻜْﻤَﺔَ ﻣَﻦْ ﻳَّﺸَﺎۤﺀُ ۚ ﻭَﻣَﻦْ ﻳُّﺆْﺕَ
ﺍﻟْﺤِﻜْﻤَﺔَ ﻓَﻘَﺪْ ﺍُﻭْﺗِﻲَ ﺧَﻴْﺮًﺍ ﻛَﺜِﻴْﺮًﺍ ۗ ﻭَﻣَﺎ ﻳَﺬَّﻛَّﺮُ
ﺍِﻟَّﺎٓ ﺍُﻭﻟُﻮﺍ ﺍﻟْﺎَﻟْﺒَﺎﺏِ
yu`til-ḥikmata may yasyā`, wa may yu`tal-
ḥikmata fa qad ụtiya khairang kaṡīrā, wa mā
yażżakkaru illā ulul-albāb
He gives wisdom to whom He wills. Whoever is
given wisdom, indeed he has been given much
good. And no one can take a lesson except those
who have common sense.
270
ﻭَﻣَﺎٓ ﺍَﻧْﻔَﻘْﺘُﻢْ ﻣِّﻦْ ﻧَّﻔَﻘَﺔٍ ﺍَﻭْ ﻧَﺬَﺭْﺗُﻢْ ﻣِّﻦْ ﻧَّﺬْﺭٍ
ﻓَﺎِﻥَّ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﻳَﻌْﻠَﻤُﻪٗ ۗ ﻭَﻣَﺎ ﻟِﻠﻈّٰﻠِﻤِﻴْﻦَ ﻣِﻦْ ﺍَﻧْﺼَﺎﺭٍ
wa mā anfaqtum min nafaqatin au nażartum
min nażrin fa innallāha ya'lamuh, wa mā liẓ-
ẓālimīna min anṣār
And whatever infaq you give or vow you promise,
then indeed, Allah knows it. And for the
wrongdoers there is no helper
